Save our Town Hall and its Clock Tower!

We need to raise £60,000 to restore this historic building.
The Town Hall has served the town well since it was built in 1850. The Clock and its Tower has been displaying the time to the people of Kingsbridge since 1875. However, the weather and time have taken their toll and they need our help.

Repairs: A survey showed the cement on the front façade was cracking and slates had slipped meaning the building was letting in water. The whole structure had rotting wood, rusting metal and the lead work needed repairs or replacing.

Modernising: When carrying out the clocks annual maintenance, someone had to climb a ladder from the town hall roof, up to the door in the blank fourth clock face in order to access the clock mechanism. This was obviously very dangerous and so safety precautions for this had to be included in the building work.

The building works are nearly finished, but have cost more than we thought. We can fund half the required £120,000 but we need your help to raise the remaining £60,000.

Fingers crossed, the restored building and its beautiful famous clock will be ready to celebrate their 176 and 151 year anniversaries in 2026.
Please donate whatever money you can. Thank you.
