Originally built in 1911 as a Pannier Market where people could sell their produce, it has a large clear space measuring 20m x 7m, with a small kitchen.
For many years the Market Hall held a fortnightly Auction sale, which only ended in 2009/10, when stricter health and safety regulations were introduced. The auction sale was a good place for local people to meet socially and the older generation still comment they miss this interaction.
Nowadays, the Market Hall is in great demand throughout the year by organisations, including Craft Markets, Art Exhibitions, Coffee Mornings, fund raising events by churches, schools, etc.
